With over 50 years of design experience, Toshiyuki Kita created NUPRI, a representation of his thoughts on the refined sense of beauty found in Hokkaido, Japan.
He chose the name “nupri,” meaning “mountain” in the language of the Ainu (Hokkaido’s Indigenous people). Made using Hokkaido-grown Japanese Oak, NUPRI expresses the connection between humans and nature. The small side platforms of the NUPRI Recliner Chair are convenient for placing smartphones and other personal belongings. Their edges help prevent your devices from falling off.
