SESTINA Sofa – 94″

The uniquely constructed pieces in this collection allow the internal structure to be seen through rather than concealed as in most sofas, helping the user coordinate a light, modern space.

A series conceptualized to make full use of thin, straight pieces of wood, creating a rich, full appearance through “subtraction.”  Designer Motomi Kawakami envisioned a sofa that brings forth an elevated sense of comfort and ease, creating his desired appearance and feel based on traditional Japanese woodworking techniques.
